Introduction
This is an early prototype for the RECAST control center. It allows persons associated to a particular HEP experiment to fulfill reqeusts for reintrepretation of previously published analyses.
It supports CERN SSO authentication which will allow for fine-grained control over which users are able to launch the reinterpretation jobs and/or upload the results to the front-end. This web application provides a plugin model for analyses. Currently, we have a template plugin for Rivet analyses that runs quickly. We are working with CERN IT's analysis preservation product to provide a template plugin for reinterpretation based on the full simulation, reconstruction, and event selection.
Instructions
- Alternatively you can also create a request on the RECAST front-end (currently the development instance)
- Once you have chosen the analysis you want to recast, create a new request by clicking the New RECAST Request button and fill out the form. After you created the request you can click through to the page describing your new request
- On the request page you can now upload simulated events for specific parameter points in the Les Houches format. To do that click the Add Parameter Point button, describe the parameter point and select the necessary event files (you don't need to worry about the cross-section and number of events for now. Dummy values are OK.)
- Now that you have created a parameter point, you can process the request by hitting the Process button. Once the results become available you can view the results for the parameter point (you will need to reload the page at the moment).
- Once the results have arrived, you can upload the response to the RECAST frontend by clicking the Upload to RECAST button
